IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-021 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH BUILDING FUTURES FOR SHELTER OPERATIONS <br />FOR AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $200,446 IN HHAP FUNDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) grant program <br />provides flexible block grant funds to Continuums of Care, large cities and counties to support <br />regional coordination and expand or develop local capacity to end and prevent homelessness in <br />local communities throughout the state of California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been allocated $200,446 in HHAP funds, passed <br />through the County of Alameda; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Futures provides San Leandro individuals and families in need with <br />shelter, Domestic Violence support and advocacy, and interim housing services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Futures operates the San Leandro Shelter, a 30-bed shelter for women <br />with and without children that provides a warm and safe environment and support services designed <br />to help residents address the obstacles they face to ending their homelessness; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Futures additionally operates Sister Me Home, a 20-bed shelter with 24- <br />hour staffing and culturally appropriate support services which is open to all fleeing domestic <br />violence, regardless of gender identification; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That said agreement in the amount of $200,446 is hereby approved and execution by the City <br />Manager is hereby authorized. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 17th day of March 2025 by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Azevedo, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (7) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br />
