ORDINANCE NO. 2025-007 2 <br />The purpose of this Chapter is to designate those areas within the San Leandro City limits that the <br />California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has determined, under California Government <br />Code Section 51179, are moderate and high fire hazard severity zones. <br /> <br />§ 3-21-120 EFFECT. <br /> <br />Basic authorities and responsibilities for designated fire hazard severity zones are set forth in <br />Government Code Section 51175 et seq. <br /> <br />§ 3-21-130 DESIGNATION AND MAP. <br /> <br />In accordance with Government Code Section 51179, the designated moderate and high fire <br />hazard severity zones are the zones identified as moderate and high fire hazard severity zones by the <br />State Fire Marshal on February 24, 2025. <br /> <br />Exhibit A, incorporated herein and made a part hereof, is the official map that depicts the zones <br />within the City of San Leandro identified by the Fire Marshal. The map is on file and available for <br />inspection during regular business hours by contacting the City’s Geographic Information System <br />Coordinator, the City Clerk, the Chief Building Official, or the Deputy Fire Marshal, all of which are <br />located at 835 E. 14th Street, San Leandro, California, 94577. Exhibit B, incorporated herein and made a <br />part hereof for information and historical reference purposes only, depicts the 2009 map, as adopted by <br />Ordinance No. 2009-001. Exhibit C, incorporated herein and made a part hereof for information and <br />historical reference purposes only, depicts an overlay map with both the 2009 and 2025 zones. <br /> <br />Section 3. California Environmental Quality Act. The adoption of this Ordinance and the maps <br />are exempt from CEQA review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15308, which exempts actions taken by <br />regulatory agencies to protect the environment. <br /> <br />Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be enforced 30 days <br />following its final adoption. <br /> <br />Section 5. Posting. The City Clerk of the City of San Leandro shall cause this Ordinance to be <br />posted in accordance with all applicable State laws. <br /> <br />Introduced at a first reading by Councilmember Boldt on the 19th day of May 2025, and passed to <br />print by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, and Mayor González (5) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Azevedo, Viveros-Walton (2) <br /> <br />Passed and adopted the 2nd day of June 2025 after publication on May 22, 2025 by the <br />following vote: <br />
