ORDINANCE NO. 2025-007 2 The purpose of this Chapter is to designate those areas within the San Leandro City limits that the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has determined, under California Government Code Section 51179, are moderate and high fire hazard severity zones. § 3-21-120 EFFECT. Basic authorities and responsibilities for designated fire hazard severity zones are set forth in Government Code Section 51175 et seq. § 3-21-130 DESIGNATION AND MAP. In accordance with Government Code Section 51179, the designated moderate and high fire hazard severity zones are the zones identified as moderate and high fire hazard severity zones by the State Fire Marshal on February 24, 2025. Exhibit A, incorporated herein and made a part hereof, is the official map that depicts the zones within the City of San Leandro identified by the Fire Marshal. The map is on file and available for inspection during regular business hours by contacting the City’s Geographic Information System Coordinator, the City Clerk, the Chief Building Official, or the Deputy Fire Marshal, all of which are located at 835 E. 14th Street, San Leandro, California, 94577. Exhibit B, incorporated herein and made a part hereof for information and historical reference purposes only, depicts the 2009 map, as adopted by Ordinance No. 2009-001. Exhibit C, incorporated herein and made a part hereof for information and historical reference purposes only, depicts an overlay map with both the 2009 and 2025 zones. Section 3. California Environmental Quality Act. The adoption of this Ordinance and the maps are exempt from CEQA review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15308, which exempts actions taken by regulatory agencies to protect the environment. Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be enforced 30 days following its final adoption. Section 5. Posting. The City Clerk of the City of San Leandro shall cause this Ordinance to be posted in accordance with all applicable State laws.
