January 17, 2024Community Police Review Board Minutes <br />6.b.24-003 Continued Review of Racial and Identity Profiling Act (RIPA) Data and <br />Development of Related Recommendations <br />No public comments were made. <br />Moved by Member Bob Bailey, seconded by Member Keith Gibbs, that the <br />Community Police Review Board (CRPB) is concerned about the racial <br />disparities in the San Leandro Police Department (SLPD) Racial and Identity <br />Profiling Act (RIPA) data as reported by the Independent Police Auditor (IPA), <br />and wants assurances that SLPD considers means to reduce such racial <br />disparities; accordingly, the CPRB requests that SLPD and IPA report back to <br />the CPRB as soon as practical with further data analysis on the frequency of <br />non-compliance with the reporting requirements; frequency of improper stops; <br />a comparison of the outcomes by race for the 7 stop categories; and a month to <br />month comparison of 2023 versus 2024. Motion carried on the following vote: <br />Aye: 6 - Bailey, Chang, Copeland, Gibbs, Trujillo, Zimmerman <br />6.c.24-008 CPRB 2024 Leadership Elections: <br />Motion A: Elect 2024 Chair & Vice-Chair; or <br />Motion B: Take no action at January meeting and continue item to <br />future meeting date identified by CPRB <br />No public comments were made. <br />Moved by Member Bob Bailey, seconded by Member Jennie Chang, to <br />continue the item to the next meeting.
