IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2025-096 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT TO BKF ENGINEERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $576,927 FOR THE MACARTHUR SUPERIOR ROUNDABOUT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 2014.0470; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE INDIVIDUAL CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 5% (OR $28,846) OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT; AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS UP TO A CUMULATIVE VALUE OF 10% (OR $57,693) OF THE ORIGINAL AGREEMENT AMOUNT WHEREAS, the City Council has indicated that safe streets are a critical component of the City’s infrastructure and their condition is an important factor in the quality of life for residents and the vitality of local businesses; and WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and BKF Engineers dated May 14, 2016, for the subject project is expired; and WHEREAS, the scope of services and the compensation schedule of the new agreement between the City of San Leandro and BKF Engineers have been presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the scope of work; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate, approve and execute the agreement for design services with BKF Engineers for an amount not to exceed $576,927; and That the City Manager or designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual change orders for the consulting services agreement up to 5% (or $28,846) of the original agreement amounts; and That the City Manager or designee is authorized to negotiate and approve change orders for the consulting services agreement up to a cumulative value not to exceed 10% (or $57,693) of the original agreement amount; and That the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents and take all actions necessary to effect the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
