IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE MOVING OF PARKING METERS AND INSTALLING CURB AND <br />PAVEMENT MARKINGS ON EAST 14TH STREET NEAR PARROTT STREET AND ELSIE AVENUE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 6-1-500 NO PARKING of the City of San Leandro <br />Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the new California Daylighting Law (California Assembly Bill AB413) the <br />current meter placement, red curb, and parking stall markings on the west side of East 14th Street <br />between Parrott Street and Pelton Plaza and the missing red curb on the east side East 14th Street <br />at the southeast corner of Elsie Avenue are inconsistent with AB413; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, East 14th Street is managed by CalTrans and the parking meters are maintained by the <br />City of San Leandro; and, <br />WHEREAS, within the State Right of Way, California Vehicle Code 22506, requires the local City <br />Council to pass a resolution or ordinance approving the requested parking or stopping restriction and to <br />send a formal request along with a certified copy of the resolution or ordinance to the Department of <br />Transportation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the resolution or ordinance must clearly state the limits of parking or stopping <br />restriction in each direction of the highway. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Council approves and authorizes the City Manager to take all actions and sign all <br />documents necessary to effect the following street segment improvements to comply with California Assembly <br />Bill (AB) 413: <br />West side of East 14th Street between Parrott Street and Pelton Plaza - Three (3) unused parking <br />meter poles shall be removed, twenty feet (20’) of red curb shall be installed, two (2) parking <br />meters shall be moved and six (6) parking stalls shall be painted. <br /> <br />East side of E 14th Street at the southeast corner of Elsie Avenue – Twenty feet (20’) of red curb <br />shall be installed. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember _____ and passed and adopted this 3rd day of March 2025 by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: () <br /> <br />NOES: () <br />ABSENT: () <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />Kelly B.
