IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2025-112 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE NON-PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH YEAR UP, INC. FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INTERNS THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2026 FOR A NEW TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $1,950,000 WHEREAS, the agreement with Year Up, Inc. for workforce development interns to various City departments was approved and authorized by the City Manager on December 19, 2022 by Resolution No. 2022-223 for a new total not to exceed amount of $600,000; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 to the agreement was approved by the City Council on November 20, 2023 by Resolution No. 2023-165 to continue the partnership for a revised not to exceed amount of $918,000; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 2 to the agreement was approved by the City Council on July 8, 2024 by Resolution No. 2024-085 to continue the partnership for a revised not to exceed amount of $1,650,000; and WHEREAS, Year Up has interns who have provided invaluable staffing support as well as successfully introduced groups of young adults to rewarding careers in public service; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to continue its partnership with Year Up, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,950,000 for interns through December 31, 2026; and WHEREAS, the City Departments have sufficient funding to cover intern costs from adopted operating budgets which includes savings from vacancies; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said amendments to the agreement are hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
