Project Description <br /> <br />Environmental Impact Report 2-1 <br />2 Project Description <br />This section describes all components and characteristics of the proposed project, including the <br />project applicant, the project site and surrounding land uses, major project characteristics, project <br />objectives, and discretionary actions needed for approval, and serves as a basis for the analysis that <br />follows in subsequent chapters of this Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR). This section also <br />provides an overview of existing conditions on and around the project site, including current <br />jurisdictional designations; however, existing conditions are described in greater detail in the <br />Environmental Setting portion of each environmental analysis section in Chapter 3, Environmental <br />Setting. <br />2.1 Project Applicant <br />Prologis <br />Claudia Tarpin, Director, Development <br />(510)-656-1900 <br />2.2 Lead Agency Contact Person <br />Cindy Lemaire, AICP, CNU-A, Senior Planner <br />City of San Leandro <br />835 East 14th Street <br />San Leandro, California 94577 <br />(510) 577-3348 <br />2.3 Project Location <br />The project site is located at 880 Doolittle Drive, which is on the east side of Doolittle Drive just east <br />of adjacent properties with frontage on Doolittle Drive, approximately 0.2 mile north of its <br />intersection with Davis Street, in San Leandro. The project site measures approximately 14.14 acres <br />and consists of two Assessor’s parcels: APN 77A-0741-004-02 and 77A-0741-005-00. Existing access <br />to the project site is from a driveway on Doolittle Drive. Access to the site is also provided from a <br />driveway at the southern terminus of Hester Street, which is a public street north of the project site. <br />Figure 2-1 shows the site location in a regional context. Figure 2-2 shows an aerial view of the <br />location of the site relative to the surrounding area. The aerial photograph shown in Figure 2-2 is <br />outdated in that is shows vehicles on-site indicating an occupied building. The buildings on site are <br />currently vacant with no active operations. <br />The project site is also in the planning area of the Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan for the <br />Oakland International Airport (Alameda County Community Development Department 2010).
