We began the day with a small ribbon-cutting
ceremony and facility tour, and by the afternoon, the pool was open for public
swimming. To celebrate this long-awaited reopening and thank the community for its
patience, the City waived all admission fees for the day. The response was incredible,
with over 500 community members coming out to swim on opening day. It was a
wonderful reminder of how much this space means to our residents. Families, youth,
and neighbors of all ages enjoyed the upgraded facility and a fun, safe place to cool
off. We’re looking forward to a great summer ahead at the Aquatic Center.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this reopening possible.
She thanked the community, our dedicated volunteers, and City staff for making this
year’s Cherry Festival and Pride Flag Raising Ceremony an incredible success.
