Page 20 <br /> Personal Protection <br />San Leandro residents told us… <br />That cybercrime is a growing threat to our seniors, with a <br />significant impact from threats such as scammer calls, emails, <br />and tampering with bank accounts. It has become the <br />number one crime against seniors, with the numbers rapidly <br />increasing. Residents also expressed the desire for more police <br />visibility, amid concerns over personal safety in certain parts of the <br />city. <br />3 Help protect residents from cyber attacks, <br />fraudulent activity and physical assaults <br />Project Lead: Human Services Department <br />Project Support: Public Library <br />Action Step #1. Convene local and regional cybersecurity <br />experts to learn about best practices for educating the <br />public on how to prevent cyber attacks and scams. <br />Action Step #2. Provide courses, resources, and written <br />information at the Senior Community Center and the <br />public library branches to educate the community and <br />help prevent cyber crimes from occurring. <br />City of San Leandro | Age-Friendly Action Plan
