IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2025-011 <br />ORDINANCE VACATING APPROXIMATELY 996 LINEAR FEET OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS EDEN ROAD (APN: 042-4530-005-02) LOCATED BETWEEN DOOLITTLE DRIVE AND THE <br />WESTERN TERMINUS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of City of San Leandro, on May 19, 2025, passed its Resolution of <br />Intention No. 2025-047 to vacate a portion of Eden Road between Doolittle Drive and the western <br />terminus as hereinafter described; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was set for July 7, 2025, at which time any person objecting to such <br />vacation was given the opportunity to appear and show cause why such vacation should not be ordered, <br />and notice of such meeting was duly published and posted; and <br />WHEREAS, such hearing was held by the City Council on July 7, 2025, and the City Council at the <br />time of such hearing determined that said portion of Eden Road between Doolittle Drive and the western <br />terminus is unnecessary for present and prospective public use; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Planning Commission found that the proposed vacation conforms to <br />the requirements of the San Leandro General Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: <br />Section 1. Findings and determinations. <br />The City Council hereby finds and determines that the above recitals are true and correct and <br />have served as the basis, in part, for the findings and actions of the City set forth below. <br />Section 2. No present or prospective public use. <br />That the portion of Eden Road located within the City of San Leandro, Alameda County, California, <br />as described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated herein, <br />unnecessary for present or prospective public uses. <br />Section 3. Vacation of Right-of-Way <br />Pursuant to Title 5, Chapter 5-4, Street and Easement Abandonment of the San Leandro Municipal <br />Code, approximately 996 linear feet of Eden Road between Doolittle Drive and the western terminus is <br />hereby vacated and abandoned. From and after the date this ordinance is recorded, a portion of Eden <br />Road between Doolittle Drive and the western terminus shall no longer constitute a public street or <br />highway. <br />Section 4. Certification and Recordation of Ordinance. <br />The City Clerk is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this Ordinance in the office of the <br />Alameda County Recorder pursuant to Title 5, Chapter 5-4 of the San Leandro Municipal Code.
