IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE EAST BAY SPCA FOR ANIMAL WELFARE SERVICES TO EXTEND THE TERM TO DECEMBER 31, 2025; AND INCREASE THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $217,500 FOR A NEW TOTAL AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION NOT TO EXCEED $937,500 WHEREAS, on December 7, 2020, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the East Bay SPCA, for animal shelter services; and WHEREAS, the agreement was subsequently reauthorized by the City Council on January 18, 2022, and again on June 20, 2023; and WHEREAS, the Police Department continues to rely on the East Bay SPCA to provide essential animal welfare services as part of its core service delivery to the community; and WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the term of the agreement through December 31, 2025, and increase the contract amount by $217,500, for a revised total not to exceed $937,500; and WHEREAS, funding for the amendment will come from existing budget appropriations, with no impact to the undesignated fund balance; and WHEREAS, the East Bay SPCA has agreed to the proposed terms of Amendment No. 1, pending City Council approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the amendment and increased amount to the total not to exceed amount of compensation in the contract is approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the consulting services agreement with the East Bay SPCA, for a new total amount of compensation not to exceed $937,500.
