IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX <br />RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE AN INDIVIDUAL <br />CHANGE ORDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $234,320 (35% OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT) FOR THE WICKS <br />BOULEVARD AND MANOR BOULEVARD TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPGRADE, PROJECT NO. 2020.5620 <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro did on May 15, 2023, award a construction contract to Ray’s Electric <br />by Resolution No. 2023-050 for the Wicks Boulevard and Manor Boulevard Traffic Signal Upgrade, Project No. <br />2020.5620 and authorize the City Manager to approve individual change orders up to 5% and cumulative change <br />orders up to 25% of the original contract; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City San Leandro did on July 21, 2025, approve and authorize an <br />increase in the cumulative change order limit from 25% to 43% for the Wicks Boulevard and Manor Boulevard <br />Traffic Signal Upgrade, Project No. 2020.5620; and <br />WHEREAS, to satisfy an unanticipated requirement by PG&E to relocate the City’s traffic signal meter <br />cabinet closer to the electrical point of connection, a change order in the amount to of $234,320 is required, <br />which is 35% of the original contract; and <br /> WHEREAS, because the change order amount exceeds the City Manager’s individual change order limit <br />of five percent (5%), City Council approval is required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to negotiate and approve an individual change order <br />up to $234,320 (35% of the original contract); and <br />That the City Manager shall take all actions and execute all documents necessary to effect the purpose <br />and intent of this Resolution. <br />Introduced by Councilmember _______________ and passed and adopted this 8th day of September <br />2025 by the following vote: <br />AYES: () <br />NOES: () <br />ABSENT: () <br />ATTEST: <br />Kelly B.
