20 <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL SERVING AS MEMBERS OF OTHER AGENCIES <br />The City Council also serves as Members of the following Authorities and Agencies. The Mayor <br />and Vice Mayor serve as the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, respectively. Agenda items are <br />included on the City Council agenda, and meetings are held at the Civic Center, City Council <br />Chambers, 835 East 14th Street, San Leandro. <br /> <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency (Meets as needed) <br />San Leandro Hillside Geologic Hazard Abatement District (Meets as needed) <br />San Leandro Parking Authority (Meets as needed) <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority (Meets as needed) <br />Successor Agency to the former City of San Leandro Redevelopment Agency <br /> (Meets as needed) <br />APPOINTMENTS TO ADVISORY BOARDS <br />Councilmembers will be requested to serve on various boards and committees for outside <br />agencies. Annually, the Mayor will review the list of current assignments and make <br />recommendations for appointments. Any councilmember desiring to serve on a particular <br />committee should inform the Mayor. These appointments are subject to approval by the majority <br />of the Council. <br /> <br />INCOMPATIBLE OFFICE OR EMPLOYMENT <br />A Councilmember or Mayor who accepts or retains an incompatible public office or incompatible <br />public employment after taking office on the Council is deemed to have automatically resigned <br />as Councilmember or Mayor. (Section 240, City Charter) <br />OUTSIDE GOVERNMENTAL APPOINTMENTS <br />If a Council Member decides to seek an outside governmental appointment (e.g., through the <br />State or National League of Cities), the following guidelines will be observed: <br />A. StaƯ support will not be provided to assist in the appointment application process or <br />any follow-up thereof. <br />B. The City will not pay per diem for travel associated with the appointment process. <br />C. There will be no commitments of other City resources to assist in the appointment <br />process. <br />D. If appointed, any travel reimbursement associated with an outside governmental <br />appointment shall be charged to the Councilmember’s travel budget. <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL COMPENSATION <br />State law limits City Council salaries. All provisions of the Government Code of the State of <br />California relating to compensation, benefits, and reimbursement for expenses applicable to <br />members of a City Council of a general law city shall apply to Councilmembers in San Leandro. <br />(Section 255, City Charter; Gov. Code §36516) <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2023-014 sets the Councilmembers’ salary at $ 1,900 per month, or $22,800 <br />annually beginning January 1, 2025. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2023-015 sets the Mayor’s salary at $3,800 per month, or $45,600 annually
