47 <br /> <br />ORDINANCES – PUBLICATION AND POSTING <br />The title of each ordinance passed to print after the first reading shall be published once in a local <br />newspaper and the City Clerk shall post a complete copy thereof on the City Council Chamber <br />bulletin board for five (5) days before adoption. (SLMC, Section 1-1-325) <br /> <br />ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS – AUTHENTICATION <br />The City Clerk shall authenticate by signature all ordinances and resolutions adopted by the <br />Council. (SLMC, Section 1-1-320) <br /> <br />ORDINANCES – MAINTENANCE OF <br />A true and correct copy of all ordinances shall be kept and certified by the City Clerk, such record <br />copy, with such certificate, or the original ordinance, shall be prima facie evidence of the <br />contents of the ordinance and the due passage and publication of the same, and shall be <br />admissible as such in any court or proceeding. Such records shall not be filed in any case, but <br />shall be returned to the custody of the City Clerk. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to <br />prevent the proof of the passage and publication of an ordinance in the usual way. <br /> <br />COMPREHENSIVE CODES <br />The Council may adopt any comprehensive code of technical regulations by reference to an <br />adopting ordinance. Any ordinance may be compiled into a comprehensive code which the <br />Council may adopt by reference to an adopting ordinance. Comprehensive codes of regulations <br />or ordinances adopted by reference need not be published, provided that copies thereof shall be <br />available at the office of the City Clerk for use or purchase by the public. Repeal or amendment of <br />codified ordinances, or additions to a comprehensive code, shall be accomplished by reference <br />to numerical designations assigned thereto for arrangement and indexing of the comprehensive <br />code. <br />
