IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026-005 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A NON- <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MCGUIRE & HESTER FOR ON-CALL EMERGENCY <br />SEWER REPAIR SERVICES FOR A THREE-YEAR PERIOD FOR A NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF <br />$600,000, WITH A PROVISION FOR A TWO-YEAR RENEWAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City owns and maintains approximately 125 miles of sanitary sewer mains, much <br />of which were installed prior to the 1970s; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is an increased risk of requiring immediate emergency repairs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City initiated a Request for Proposals on September 30, 2025 from qualified <br />contractors for on-call emergency sewer repair services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City received three proposals and after careful evaluation McGuire & Hester was <br />the only contractor selected to be included in an on-call services agreement with the City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the Non-Professional Services Agreement is approved and the City Manager is hereby <br />authorized to execute an agreement with McGuire & Hester for on-call emergency sewer repair <br />services for a three-year period not to exceed amount of $600,000; and <br /> <br />2. That the City Manager or her designee are authorized to take all actions and execute all <br />documents necessary to effect the purpose and intent of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 20th day of January 2026 by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Azevedo, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (7) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Sarah K.
