<br />The first round random voting order of nominees was prepared by the City
<br />Clerk, and votes were conducted in the following order: Luis Mendoza, Edward
<br />Hernández, Emily Chandler, Tiare Peña, Leo Sheridan, James Aguilar. Results
<br />of the first vote on nominees was as follows:

<br />No - 2 (Bowen, Simon)
<br />Abstain - 1 (Boldt)
<br />2. Edward Hernández

<br />No nominee received a majority vote in the first round of voting. For the
<br />second round of voting, the City Council narrowed the list of nominees to
<br />include Emily Chandler, James Aguilar, Luis Mendoza, Tiare Peña. The random
<br />voting order of nominees was prepared by the City Clerk as follows for the
<br />second round of voting: Luis Mendoza, James Aguilar, Emily Chandler, and
<br />Tiare Peña. Results of the second vote on nominees was as follows:

<br />No - 2 (Viveros-Walton, González)
<br />Abstain - 4 (Aguilar, Boldt, Bowen, Simon)
<br />2.James Aguilar
<br />Yes - 4 (Aguilar, Boldt, Simon, Viveros-Walton)
<br />Abstain - 2 (Bowen, González)
<br />A motion was made by Councilmember Aguilar, seconded by Councilmember
<br />Boldt, to adopt the resolution appointing James Aguilar to fill the District 2 City
<br />Council vacancy to a term expiring December 31, 2026 and until a successor is
<br />elected and qualified. The motion CARRIED by the following vote:
<br />Aye:Victor Aguilar Jr., Fred Simon, Juan González III, Xouhoa Bowen,
<br />Sbeydeh Viveros-Walton, Dylan Boldt
