IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026-043 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE $100,000 IN DONATION FUNDS FROM THE ROTARY <br />CLUB OF SAN LEANDRO TO SUPPORT THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW FITNESS COURT AT MARINA <br />PARK AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ALL <br />ACTIONS NECESSARY RELATED TO THE DONATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of San Leandro is a local chapter of Rotary International, a global <br />service organization dedicated to improving communities through volunteerism and leadership; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Club’s purpose is to unite local leaders, professionals, and residents in carrying <br />out service projects that benefit the San Leandro community and support broader humanitarian <br />initiatives through community improvement, youth development, education, public health, and related <br />service activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Club has supported the City and community through involvement in numerous <br />park renovation projects, beautification projects and community cleanups; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of San Leandro, founded in 1926, is celebrating its 100th anniversary <br />of service to the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of San Leandro has committed to making a $100,000 donation to the <br />City to support the installation of a National Fitness Campaign fitness court at Marina Park, including <br />commemorative elements such as a monument and plaque recognizing the Club’s 100th anniversary; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the donation will offset project costs and enhance public recreational infrastructure <br />consistent with the City’s goals related to health, wellness, and quality of life. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. Acceptance and Appropriation of Funds. That the City Council hereby accepts the donation <br />from the Rotary Club of San Leandro in the amount of $100,000 and appropriates said funds <br />into the Park Development Fee Fund Undesignated Fund Balance to support the installation of <br />a fitness court and related commemorative improvements at Marina Park; and <br /> <br />2. That the City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to execute all documents and take all <br />actions necessary related to the donation. <br />Introduced by Councilmember James Aguilar and passed and adopted this 20th day of April 2026, <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers J.
