ORDINANCE NO. 2026-004 2 <br />Property Use BU <br /> <br />In order to accommodate the increased costs of providing emergency medical services, the tax <br />per “benefit unit” shall be adjusted annually by an amount not to exceed the Consumer Price Index (All- <br />Urban Consumers, San Francisco-Bay Area) unless the City Council finds and determines that said <br />adjustment would result in the tax exceeding the cost of providing the services. Under no circumstances <br />shall the total adjustment provided for herein exceed Five Dollars Twenty Cents ($5.20) per benefit unit. <br /> <br />Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect July 1, 2026. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Viveros-Walton and passed and adopted this 18th day of May <br />2026 by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers J.
