CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />CITY COUNCIL BUSINESS AND HOUSING DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br />December 11, 2008 <br />4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. <br />San Leandro City Hall <br />835 East 14th Street <br />San Leandro, California <br />Sister Cities Gallery <br />HIGHLIGHTS <br />Committee Members: Councilmernber Grant and Councilmember Souza <br />City staff present: City Manager Hollister, Community Development Director Sims, <br />Business Development Manager Battenberg, and Project Specialist I <br />Ricard <br />Public present: None <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:15 p.m. <br />1. Update on Development Projects: <br />a. General Foundry. Community Development Director Sims explained that General <br />Foundry is opening a new building in the Marina Bay Business Park. <br />b. 1999 Fairway Drive: Director Sims announced that a new industrial building is being <br />constructed at 1999 Fairway Drive. The developer does not have a tenant at this time. <br />c. Creekside Plaza: Innisfree Companies the developer of Creekside Plaza has signed a <br />lease with a new tenant and will begin construction on the third office building of the <br />Plaza in spring 2009. <br />d. San Leandro Crossings: Director Sims informed the Committee that the affordable <br />housing portion of the project will be presented to the Planning Commission in January <br />and the City Council in February. He also noted that Housing Manager Liao will return <br />to the Committee in January to further discuss the Agency's financial contribution to the <br />low-income housing portion of the project. <br />e. Downtown Survey: Manager Battenberg informed the Committee that the Downtown <br />San Leandro survey is available at downtownsanleandro. com and, to date, over 250 <br />individuals have taken the survey. <br />
