ti <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 107 (2935) <br />REVISED RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CTTY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, <br />TO SUBMIT REQUESTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO THE STATE HOUSING AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT <br />FROM THE DOWNTOWN REBOUND PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM FOR <br />CERTAIN COSTS RELATED TO THE PREPARATION OF THE EAST 14TH <br />STREET SOUTH AREA DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro directed staff to prepare the <br />East 14th Street South Area Development Strategy in December 2001 in order to <br />implement General Plan recommendations for the East 14th Street Corridor; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to seek out possible additional sources of <br />grand funding for the Development Strategy; and <br />WHEREAS, the city staff prepared and submitted an application to the State of <br />California's Downtown Rebound Planning Grant Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Housing and, Community <br />Development, Division of Housing Policy Development administers the Downtown <br />Rebound Planning Grant Program for the purpose of assisting local jurisdictions in <br />gauging the realistic potential for residential infill, mixed-use and transit-oriented <br />housing development, identifying and removing barriers to such development, creating a <br />detailed plan to promote residential development of identified infill sites, and determining <br />the seismic and structural feasibility of the conversion of specific existing structures to <br />allow residential or a mix of residential and commercial purposes. <br />
