IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-135 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE SIDE LETTERS TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND THE SAN LEANDRO POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION (SLPOA) <br />AND THE SAN LEANDRO POLICE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (SLPMA) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a recent compliance review was conducted by CalPERS where CalPERS determined <br />that the holiday pay that was reported did not meet the criteria as defined by Government Code (GC) <br />Section 20636 and California Code of Regulations (CCR) Section 571; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the holiday pay language in the City’s written labor agreements has been revised and <br />complies as reportable Special Compensation under GC Section 20636 and CCR Section 571; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an agreement was reached between the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro <br />Police Officers’ Association (SLPOA) to amend the 2020-2022 SLPOA Memorandum of Understanding <br />and the 2023-2028 MOU for Holiday language to ensure compliance with CalPERS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an agreement was reached between the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro <br />Police Management Association (SLPMA) to amend the 2020-2022 SLPMA Memorandum of <br />Understanding and the 2023-2028 MOU for Holiday language to ensure compliance with CalPERS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, draft Side Letters of Agreement to the Memorandum of Understanding were <br />presented to this City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. That said Side Letters of Agreement to the Memoranda of Understanding for the SLPOA and the <br />SLPMA, respectively, as described herein and in the staff report associated with this Resolution, <br />are hereby approved; and <br /> <br />2.
