IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-140 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION OF $110,235.12 FROM THE GENERAL FUND <br />UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE INTO ACCOUNT 010-62-010-5340 TO FUND THE CITYWIDE MEDIAN <br />MAINTENANCE SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH RUBICON LANDSCAPE CORPORATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 16, 2023, the City Council approved and authorized execution of a five- <br />year Non-Professional Services Agreement with Rubicon Landscape Corporation for Citywide median <br />maintenance (File No.23-449) providing landscape maintenance, weed abatement, irrigation <br />management, turf care, tree maintenance, trash removal, and debris collection at 95 locations <br />throughout the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of the Public Works and Recreation & Parks departmental reorganization <br />effective January 1, 2024, several budget accounts were transitioned between departments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during this administrative transition, the appropriation for a portion of the Rubicon <br />Landscape Corporation contract was inadvertently omitted from the adopted biennial budget, resulting <br />in a funding gap of $110,235.12; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that appropriating these funds will align the budget with the <br />previously approved contract authorization, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and allow <br />the City to continue providing high-quality maintenance of medians and public rights-of-way that <br />contribute to community safety, appearance, and infrastructure sustainability. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. The City Council hereby authorizes the amendment to the adopted FY 2025-2026 budget by <br />authorizing the additional appropriation in the amount of $110,235.12 from the General Fund <br />undesignated fund balance into Account 010-62-010-5340 to fund the Citywide Median <br />Maintenance Services Agreement with Rubicon Landscape Corporation. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to take all actions necessary to implement <br />this appropriation and ensure full compliance with the terms of the Non-Professional Services <br />Agreement. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 3rd day of November 2025 by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Azevedo (1) <br />
