IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2025 -156 RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE PACIFIC LIBRARY PARTNERSHIP INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY GRANT AWARD OF $9,000 FOR FY 2026 AND TO APPROPRIATE THESE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING MEMORY CARE KITS TO THE SAN LEANDRO PUBLIC LIBRARY COLLECTION WHEREAS, the Pacific Library Partnership (PLP) Innovation and Technology Grant provide funding opportunities to public libraries to encourage innovative services and expanded community engagement; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library identified a growing community need to support individuals experiencing memory challenges, their caregivers, and others interested in cognitive wellness; and WHEREAS, to address this need, the library proposed the Memory Care Initiative, a project to establish a circulating collection of Memory Care Kits containing themed materials, sensory items, and interactive activities designed to stimulate cognitive engagement and support memory health; and WHEREAS, the project will also strengthen community partnerships with organizations such as the San Leandro Senior Center, assisted living facilities, retirement homes, and skilled nursing facilities by offering training programs and outreach activities to demonstrate the use and benefits of the Memory Care Kits; and WHEREAS, the Pacific Library Partnership has awarded the San Leandro Public Library an Innovation and Technology Grant in the amount of $9,000 for FY 2026 to implement the Memory Care Kit Initiative and enhance inclusive library services. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1.That the City Council accepts, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents related to the Pacific Library Partnership Innovation and Technology Grant award for the Memory Care Kits Project to enhance the San Leandro Public Library collection and service, in the total amount of $9,000. 2.That an appropriation of the Pacific Library Partnership Innovation and Technology Grant funding of $9,000 in revenue account #150-3643 and expenditure account #150-68-106 is approved.
