IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-157 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL <br />DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE CARNEGIE FOUNDATION 250TH ANNIVERSARY GIFT OF <br />$10,000 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026 AND TO APPROPRIATE THESE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />ENHANCING LIBRARY COLLECTIONS, CULTURAL PROGRAMMING, AND SPECIAL EVENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation celebrates the 250th anniversary of our Nation and the <br />signing of the Declaration of Independence; and <br />WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation celebrates the 1,280 original Carnegie libraries still in <br />operation by gifting each library $10,000; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library is identified as an original Carnegie Library; and <br />WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation gift of $10,000 will be used to further the San Leandro <br />Public Library’s mission by enhancing the San Leandro Public Library’s collections, cultural <br />programming, and special events; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. That in accordance with Chapter 1.9 of the San Leandro Administrative Code, the City Council <br />accepts, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents and shall take all actions <br />necessary related to the Carnegie Foundation Donation for $10,000 to enhance the San <br />Leandro Public Library’s collections, cultural programming, and special events. <br /> <br />2. That an appropriation of the Carnegie Foundation donation of $10,000 in revenue account <br />#010-3803 and expenditure account #010-68-107 (DONATION-CARNEGIE <br />FOUNDATION) is approved. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Viveros-Walton and passed and adopted this 1st day of December <br />2025 by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Azevedo, Boldt, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Vice Mayor Bowen (1) <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Sarah K.
