IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-168 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. <br />2 TO AN EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH BUILDING FUTURES FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN TO INCREASE <br />FUNDING BY $192,822 IN HOMELESS HOUSING, ASSISTANCE, AND PREVENTION (HHAP) GRANT FUNDS <br />FOR AN AMENDED TOTAL OF $778,213 AND EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT THROUGH <br />DECEMBER 31, 2026 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) grant program provides <br />flexible block grant funds to Continuums of Care, large cities and counties to support regional coordination <br />and expand or develop local capacity to end and prevent homelessness in local communities throughout the <br />state of California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been allocated $1,417,359 in HHAP funds, passed through <br />the County of Alameda; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Futures provides San Leandro individuals and families in need with shelter, <br />domestic violence support and advocacy, and housing services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Futures operates the San Leandro Shelter, a 30-bed shelter for women with and <br />without children that provides a warm and safe environment and support services designed to help residents <br />address the obstacles they face to ending their homelessness; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Futures additionally operates Sister Me Home, a 20-bed shelter with 24-hour <br />staffing and culturally appropriate support services that is open to all fleeing domestic violence, regardless of <br />gender identification; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said amendment. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE that said amendment <br />is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 15th day of December 2025 by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Azevedo (1) <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Sarah K.
