IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-171 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF $45,000 IN SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />SERVICES FUNDS (SLESF) GRANT (AKA FRONTLINE) FOR THE PURCHASE OF BALLISTIC ARMORED <br />PLATES ($21,000) AND TACTICAL CAMERA BALLS ($24,000) IN FY 2026 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department has equipment needs in which Frontline Grant Funds can be <br />used to fund the needed equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Frontline Grant Fund is intended to fund police-specific needs, such as <br />equipment, supplies, or services that comply with the State of California grant requirements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these Frontline Grant Funds are currently budgeted in the Special Grant Fund (Fund <br />150) operating budget of the Police Department in FY 2026; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the use of these funds will supply police officers with the equipment necessary to <br />advance public safety as outlined in the associated staff report. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE that the Frontline <br />funds are approved and authorized to be used as follows: <br /> <br />1. $21,000 for the purchase of 26 ballistic rifle plates for Special Weapons and Tactics team <br />members (150-21-011-6272); and <br /> <br />2. $26,000 for the purchase of three tactical camera balls for SWAT and frontline sworn staff <br />(150-21-011-6272). <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 15th day of December 2025 by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Azevedo (1) <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Sarah K.
