IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026-016 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE $35,000 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM THE <br />NATIONAL FITNESS CAMPAIGN, AND APPROPRIATE $325,000 OF PARK IN-LIEU FEES <br /> FOR AN OUTDOOR FITNESS COURT AT MARINA PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the National Fitness Campaign (NFC) partners with municipalities nationwide to install free, <br />publicly accessible outdoor Fitness Court® systems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been awarded grant funding from NFC for the installation <br />of a Fitness Court® at Marina Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the grant requires confirmation of local funding to complete the <br />project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Park In-Lieu Fees (Park Development Fees) are restricted funds intended for park and <br />recreation capital improvements and are an appropriate funding source for this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this project is consistent with the City’s adopted <br />Recreation and Parks Master Plan and supports the City Council’s Quality of Life priorities by expanding <br />outdoor fitness amenities and enhancing public park infrastructure. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. Accept and appropriate $35,000 in grant funding from the National Fitness Campaign for an <br />outdoor Fitness Court® at Marina Park; and <br /> <br />2. Appropriate $325,000 from Park In-Lieu Fees to fund remaining project costs; and <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to execute all agreements and documents and <br />take all actions necessary to implement the project. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 17th day of February 2026, by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Boldt, Bowen, Simon, Viveros-Walton, Mayor González (6) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Sarah K.
