CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Les Rich led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Badger, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced that, since the last regular City Council meeting, a Proclamation <br />was issued declaring April 22-24, 2005 as "Poetry Days" in San Leandro in honor of the 2005 <br />California Federation of Chaparral Poets State Convention. <br /> <br />A. Certificate of Appreciation for Pari Cariaga Thanking Her for the Positive Recognition <br />She Brought to the City of San Leandro. <br /> <br />Pari Cariaga accepted the Certificate of Appreciation presented by Mayor Young and <br />Vice Mayor Badger. Pari told the audience that, as an only child, she was very lonely <br />this past summer. Her father urged her to write a letter to First Lady Laura Bush, and <br />Mrs. Bush sent Pari a copy of the book, "Because of Winn Dixie," and a handwritten <br />note. <br /> <br />B. Proclamation Declaring May 1-7, 2005 as Municipal Clerks Week in San Leandro. <br />
