LUONG (APPLICANT AND PROPERTY OWNER); RS-VP <br />RESIDENTIAL SINGLE-FAMILY VIEW PRESERVATION SUB-DISTRICT <br /> <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The applicant proposes to construct a new, two- to three-story 10,679 square-foot single-family <br />home and a 1,326 square-foot in-law unit within a two-story "carriage house" on a vacant lot <br />located at the terminus of Darius Way. The property is zoned RS- VP, Residential Single-Family <br />View Preservation Sub-District and encompasses 64,708 square feet (1.49 acres). The irregular- <br />shaped parcel is an up-slope lot with a flat building pad in the middle of the site. <br /> <br />The revised plans, modified to lower the overall height subsequent to the Board of Zoning <br />Adjustments approval, includes 7,683 square feet of conditioned livable floor area, plus an <br />attached 985 square-foot garage and 1,946 square feet of decks and stairs. The in-law unit <br />includes 450 square feet of livable area, 300 square feet of exterior stairs and decks, and a 576 <br />square-foot garage. The proposal also includes a single-story, 288 square-foot accessory pool <br />house. At the July 20, 2006 meeting, the Board of Zoning Adjustments approved Height <br />Exception and Major Site Plan Review/View Preservation for the proposed new home and in-law <br />
