Discussion Regarding On-line Access to City Records <br /> <br />City Clerk Marian Handa reported that in 2004 the City Council authorized the purchase ofthe <br />Laserfiche electronic document imaging system that allows the City's records to be scanned and <br />stored electronically. Additionally, Laserfiche uses software called WebLink to make the records <br />available to the public via the City's website. Ms. Handa provided a list of the City's records <br />proposed to be made available on the City's website. She displayed for the Committee records <br />provided on the website of the City of Livermore, which also uses Laserfiche and WebLink. <br /> <br />Committee Member Nardine commented that it would be helpful to have access to information <br />on various construction projects throughout the City. Ms. Handa indicated that some of <br />Community Development's records are available for viewing electronically at their counter via <br />WebLink. City Manager Jermanis noted that the Council also receives regular status updates on <br />major projects. <br /> <br />Committee Member Badger commented favorably on the idea of converting the information from <br />day forward and implementing the project in phases. <br />
