PRESENT A TIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported that Bancroft Middle School teacher Dave D'Antonio had been <br />recognized as the Teacher of the Year for the San Leandro Unified School District and <br />had recently been announced as the Teacher of the Year for Alameda County. He will be <br />invited to the October 21 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced Cel1ificates of Recognition had been given to Assumption <br />School on the celebration of their 50111 anniversary and to Rallitus Ortega on the <br />celebration of her 100111 birthday. <br /> <br />Mayor Y ollng announced the Mayor's Community Pund donated to the S1. Leander Parish <br />for their festival; the Church of the Assumption Youth Ministry for the Corazon house <br />building project; the Lions' Club; Monarch Bay Junior Golf Fund; and the San Leandro <br />Library Foundation for the Trivia Bee team. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the following Proclamations had been issued in honor of: the <br />2151h anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution with Septemher 17 23 <br />proclaimed as "United States Constitution Week;" the 751h anniversary of the Port of <br />Oakland; and with September 21-24 proclaimed as the "Portuguese Protective Union of <br />the State of California 'U.P.P.E.C.' Days," <br />
