CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6: 10 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Mayor Santos led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Grant, Gregory, Souza, Starosciak; Mayor Santos <br /> <br />ABSENT: Member Stephens <br /> <br />Mayor Santos welcomed the members of the audience and the City Council District 6 <br />applicants. He provided the following information on the interview process to be conducted <br />this evening: The Council formed an ad hoc committee comprised of Mayor Santos and Vice <br />Mayor Grant to develop the interview questions, and the other members of the City Council <br />were seeing the questions for the first time tonight. There were a total of eight questions, and <br />the first question was provided to the applicants in advance. For fairness and consistency, all <br />applicants would be asked the same questions. Each applicant would have a total of 30 <br />minutes to answer all the questions. The City Clerk would draw names to determine the <br />order in which the applicants were interviewed. Once the names were drawn, the applicants <br />would wait in another building while the interviews were conducted. Assistant City Manager <br />Steve Hollister would bring each applicant over when it was time for his or her interview. <br />After each applicant was interviewed, they would be allowed to stay in the room for the <br />remainder ofthe process. <br /> <br />2. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />
