Introduction of Emergency Preparedness Manager Marla Blagg and Discussion of Her <br />Work Plan <br /> <br />John Jermanis explained the history of the Disaster Council and its purpose of working <br />collaboratively so that all segments of the community are prepared to survive and recover <br />from a disaster. He also explained the history of the Emergency Services Division and the <br />fact that the position of Emergency Services Manager was eliminated when that staff person <br />left the City about two years ago. Working with the Alameda County Fire Department. the <br />decision was made to create a shared position of Emergency Preparedness Manager. to be <br />shared equally by the City. the Fire Department and the City of Dublin. Marla Blagg, <br />Emergency Preparedness Manager, was introduced. <br /> <br />Ms. Blagg gave an overview of the role of the Emergency Preparedness Manager. her goals <br />and responsibilities, and the programs she intends to initiate for San Leandro (see PowerPoint <br />handout attached). She has already attended meetings and/or offered preparedness <br />information for members of the residential and business communities. She intends to offer <br />
