IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO, 2005-008 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RELATING TO THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF 2006 <br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONTIN[JED CONSOLIDATION <br />OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION WITH THE <br />STATEWIDE PRIMARY ELECTION <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: <br />(1055) <br />Section 1. Pursuant to Charter Section 600, the General Municipal Election of the City <br />of San Leandro for the year 2006 shall be and is hereby consolidated with the Statewide Primary <br />Election to be conducted on June 6, 2006. <br />Section 2. Pursuant to Charter Section 600, future General Municipal Elections of the <br />City of San Leandro shall be and are hereby consolidated with the Statewide Primary Election to be <br />conducted the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June of each even-numbered year. <br />Section 3. Pursuant to Charter Section 235, the term of office for those persons elected <br />to City offices shall commence on January 1 following the election. <br />Section 5. Ordinance No. 99-08 is hereby repealed. <br />Section 6. The City Council, by resolution, shall provide for all procedures relative to <br />the conduct of such General Municipal Election. <br />Section 5. Effective Date and Publication. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) <br />days after adoption. The City Clerk is directed to publish the title once a11d post a complete copy <br />thereof on the City Council Chamber bulletin board for five (5) days Prior to adoption, <br />
