IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO ORDINANCE NO.2003-011 (1315) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2003-004 ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION OF THE MAYOR TO PROVIDE FOR CLARIFICATION OF THE EFFECTIVE DATE The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Findings: A. On February 18, 2003, the City Council approved and passed to print Ordinance No. 2003-004 establishing the salary for the Mayor in the amount of Three Thousand One Hundred Fifty dollars ($3,150.00) a month. The ordinance became effective on April 16, 2003, thirty (30) days following the second reading of the ordinance on March 17, 2003. B. It is the policy of the City Council that the change in Council and Mayoral salaries will commence January 1, 2003, as approved by the Council on February 4, 2002 in its adoption of "Amendment to Guidelines Regarding the Setting of the Mayor's Salary." C. An increase in compensation for the office of Council Member became effective January 1, 2003. D. Inadvertently, Ordinance No. 2003-004 failed to provide for the Mayor's salary increase to be calculated commencing on the January 1, 2003 date. Section 2. Ordinance No. 2003-004 is hereby amended to establish the salary of the office of Mayor in the amount of Three Thousand One Hundred Fifty dollars ($3,150.00) a month, commencing January 1, 2003. Section 3. The City Manager is directed to make the appropriate adjustments to the salary of the Mayor to carry out the purpose and intent of this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after adoption. The City Clerk is directed to publish the title once and post a complete copy thereof on the City Council Chamber bulletin board prior to its adoption.
