IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003-013 (2507) <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1-3-1405, TERM OF OFFICE -VACANCIES, OF <br />TITLE I, CHAPTER 1-3, ARTICLE 14 <br />TO THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />WHEREAS, the annual evaluation of the Rent Review Program determined <br />that the Program provides a valuable resource to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, lengthening the terms to four years and staggering the appointments would <br />increase the effectiveness of the Board. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as <br />follows: <br />SECTION L <br />Article 14. Rent Review Board, Section 1-3-1405 Term of Office -Vacancies shall be amended <br />to read: <br />The term of office for each member of the Rent Review Board shall be a period of four <br />(4) years and until his or her successor has been appointed and qualified. <br />The term of office for the members of the Rent Review Board shall be staggered in such <br />a way as to have two members' terms expire every two years. The member who is neither a <br />tenant, riot a landlord shall stay on the Board for a period of four (4) years and until his or her <br />successor has been appointed and qualified. A vacancy shall be filled by Council appointment <br />for the unexpired remainder of the term. <br />SECTION 2: <br />This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after adoption and the title thereof shall be <br />published once prior to adoption. <br />
