RELATING TO MASTER PLAN OF CITY STREETS,
PROJECT NO. 120-28-179
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION
The project will incorporate the Master Plan of City Streets that was adopted by the City Council
in 1988 into our (Geographical Information System) GIS. The project will allow for accurate
assessment of plan lines and Master Plan Street width requirements to aid in the orderly process
for future development in the City.
Staff recommends approval of a contractual services agreement for consulting services with
Greenwood and Moore, Inc. in the amount of $34,325 for the 2008 Master Plan of City Streets
project.
BACKGROUND
During the 1980's, staff evaluated the streets in the City to determine which streets should be
widened to accommodate the planned growth in the city. Since that time, increased growth has
led to both the modification of existing roadways and the construction of new roadways.
Staffs recent analysis indicates that many of the street listings are no longer current and require
the surveying and reviewing of tract maps, parcel maps, record of surveys, plan line maps and
other records to assure compliance with the 1988 Master Plan of City Streets. The City will use
our GIS to support the recordkeeping and analysis of development and improvements in the City.
Analysis
A Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued and three (3) proposals from design consultants were
received. The consulting firm, Greenwood and Moore, Inc. was selected based on its experience
with similar projects. Greenwood and Moore, Inc. has performed numerous right-of--way studies for
local agencies and has extensive knowledge of the project issues.
