The City recently awarded the contract for construction of the Phase 2
improvements to Alten Construction, Inc. Construction of the building started in November
2008 and is expected to continue into 2010.
Analysis
Pursuant to flee Alameda County Integrated Waste Management Plan ("Plan"), ACWMA collects
fees to reduce the amount of solid waste disposed in landfills by encouraging reduced use, reuse,
composting, and recycling. The grant funds on this project are for implementing design changes
that reduce the amount of construction waste and future landscaping greenwaste.
Current City Council Policy
Not Applicable
