Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND THE SAN LEANDRO MANAGEMENT <br />ORGANIZATION (SLMO). <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve a resolution ratifying the Memorandum of <br />Understanding between the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Management Organization <br />covering the period of January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The San Leandro Management Organization represents approximately 48 full and part-time <br />management employees throughout the organization. The previous Memorandum of <br />Understanding covered the period January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2008. <br />The City commenced negotiations for a successor labor agreement with SLMO representatives <br />on September 9, 2008. On December 16, 2008, the negotiators reached a tentative agreement to <br />extend the agreement for one year with minor modifications. The agreement was ratified by the <br />employees and is being presented to the City Council for its approval. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The major elements of the tentative agreement include the following: <br />Duration: One year, starting January 1, 2009 and ending December 31, 2009. <br />Wages: No salary increase with the exception of Police Captains and Lieutenants who will <br />maintain current differential with Sergeants. <br />Benefits: Continuation of current medical and dental benefits for employees with employee <br />contribution to remain at the 2008 level. <br />
