Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR THE SAN LEANDRO SENIOR CENTER, <br />PHASE 1, PROJECT NO. 210-18-116 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work, filing of the Notice of Completion, and authorizing <br />the City Manager to release the maintenance bonds for the subject project upon successful <br />completion of the one-year maintenance period. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Senior Center project is being constructed in two phases because of funding limitations and <br />contractual obligations. Phase 1 includes construction of a parking lot on the former Ford <br />property. This parking lot will be used by hospital and medical office patrons and shared <br />parking for the senior center. <br />Analysis <br />The completed Phase 1 improvements consisted of: <br />• Removal and demolition of former auto dealership site at 13889 East 14th Street (note <br />that the building removal was completed under a separate contract) <br />• 172-space main parking lot and entry roadway <br />• Traffic signal at the entry road (138th Avenue and East 14th Street) and East 14th Street <br />improvements within Caltrans' right-of--way <br />• Landscape improvements <br />• Joint Senior Center/San Leandro Hospital monument sign <br />Construction of Phase 1 is substantially complete with the exception of a few corrective items <br />that are currently being completed. Monies from the retention held by the City will continue to <br />
