CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
MEMORANDUM
Date: April 23, 2009
To: Mayor and City Council
From: Stephen L. Hollister~Manager
Subject: Resolution to Maintain San Leandro Hospital
Several Councilmembers have expressed a desire to consider a Council resolution urging the
Eden Township Healthcare District, the Eden-Sutter Board and the Alameda County Board of
Supervisors to maintain San Leandro Hospital as an acute care facility with emergency room
services. Attached is a resolution summarizing several points gleaned from Council and Public
comments heard at your April 20th meeting. Because the Board of Supervisors will be
considering this matter and the related construction of the new Eden Medical Center on Aril
28th, we have scheduled a special meeting, to take place at the beginning of your Apri127t work
session on the Clean Cities Program; to consider this resolution.
The information in The Daily Review stating that the special meeting would take place at 6:00
p.m. is incorrect and communicated to the paper by a citizen and not a City staff member.
