CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br /> 2. BUSINESS ITEMS <br /> <br />Public comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />fill out a speaker card <br />When you address the City Council, you should and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. <br /> <br />A. Resolution Urging the Eden Township Healthcare District, the Eden-Sutter Board, and <br />the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to Maintain San Leandro Hospital as an <br />Acute Care Facility with Emergency Room Services. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos asked for members of the audience who wished to address on this item. <br /> <br />John Hudson, San Leandro resident <br />, addressed the City Council, urging the City <br />Council to act timely to solve the San Leandro Hospital situation. Mr. Hudson <br />proposed that large businesses in San Leandro be encouraged to use the local hospital by <br />contracting with insurance companies that depend on local hospitals. <br /> <br /> <br />
