IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 009 (1022) <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING NO PARKING ON MARINA BOULEVARD, FROM AURORA <br />DRIVE TO MONARCH BAY DRNE, ON STREET SWEEPING DAY, BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND <br />12 NOON <br />Whereas the City Council of the City of San Leandro desires the City to be maintained in a clean <br />and orderly manner; and <br />Whereas street sweeping is a major component ofremoving debris from the City's streets; and <br />Whereas the street sweepers cannot do an effective job ofremoving debris while vehicles are <br />parked in the street; and <br />Whereas the Public Works Department has placed windshield flyers on vehicles parked on <br />Marina Boulevard, between Aurora Drive and Monarch Bay Drive prior to street sweeping for the last <br />three months; and <br />Whereas vehicles continue to park on Marina Boulevard, between Aurora Drive and Monarch <br />Bay Drive on street sweeping day, thereby being detrimental to the City's street sweeping efforts. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby directs action be taken <br />by City staff to post Marina Boulevard, between Aurora Drive and Monarch Bay Drive, as No Parking/ <br />Tow Away zone, between 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon on street sweeping day in compliance with San Leandro <br />Municipal Code Section 6-1-500. <br />Furthermore, that appropriate enforcement action be taken by the San Leandro Police Department <br />to ensure the removal of vehicles in the No Parking/Tow Away zone on street sweeping day. <br />Introduced by Council Member Stephens and passed and adopted this 21 day <br />of January 2003, by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Council Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Naxdine, Santos, Stephens ( 6 ) <br />NOES: None ( 0 ) <br />ABSENT: Mayor Young ( 1 ) <br />Attest: <br />Ma 'an Handa, City Clerk <br />
