~._ <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 013 (2 95 9 ) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY <br />FOR TRANSPORTATION FUND FOR CLEAN AIlZ (TFCA) REGIONAL GRANTS <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ROUNDABOUTS AT THREE LOCATIONS, <br />SAMPLE-ADVANCED LOOP DETECTORS ON HESPERIAN BOULEVARD AND A <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPGRADE ON WASHINGTON AVENUE <br />AT THE MONTEREY BOULEVARD INTERSECTION <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) Board has a <br />Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA); and <br />WHEREAS, that the transportation control measures of the installation of roundabouts, <br />the ability for traffic responsive operations is facilitated with sample-advance loop detectors and <br />the improved safety and operation resulting from the upgrade of traffic signals are eligible for <br />Transportation Fund for Clean Air regional funding, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for a Transportation <br />Fund for Clean Air Regional Grant for the following projects: <br />1. Roundabouts at San Leandro Boulevard at Broadmoor Boulevard/Park Street <br />2. Roundabouts at Fairway Drive at Neptune Drive/Monarch Drive <br />Roundabouts at Fremont Street at Alvarado Street <br />4. Sample-Advance Loop Detectors on Hesperian Boulevard <br />S. Traffic Signal Upgrade on Washington Avenue at the Monterey Boulevard <br />Intersection <br />
