AGREEMENT ADDING A PARTY TO THE <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara (County) and thirty-six (36) other public agencies are <br />present parties to the existing Joint Powers Agreement for Intergovernmental Employee <br />Relations Services (Joint Powers Agreement); and <br />WHEREAS, Sections 4 and 13 of the Joint Powers Agreement expressly permit participation <br />as "Additional Parties" of public agencies other than those presently signatory to the Joint <br />Powers Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 13 of said Agreement expressly authorizes County for and on behalf of all <br />parties to execute an agreement with such Additional Parties binding same to the terms and <br />conditions of the Joint Powers Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro is a public agency as defined by State Law and is an <br />appropriate Additional Party as defined by the Joint Powers Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has by official action of its legislative body expressly <br />authorized participation under the Joint Powers Agreement as an Additional Party and is <br />prepared to render, upon execution hereof, the appropriate membership fee prescribed by <br />Sections 7 and 13 of the Joint Powers Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, County by official action of its Board of Supervisors has expressly authorized <br />execution of this Agreement with the City of San Leandro as an Additional Party. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed that the City of San Leandro shall become a party to the Joint <br />Powers Agreement effective December 1, 2001 and shall thereafter enjoy the rights and <br />perform the duties required in accordance with the terms and conditions thereof. <br /> <br />
