Budget Updates <br />• San Leandro Unified School District <br />Interim Superintendent Cathey distributed a handout listing the School Board's approved <br />budget cuts for FY10-11 and FY11-12 (attached). She commended the Board in getting the <br />community's input in discussions regarding the budget. She explained that a Budget <br />Advisory Committee and a Board Finance Committee were also a part of the process to <br />develop the final list of budget cuts. <br />Councilmember Reed asked for clarification on the reduction of three staff development <br />days. Interim Superintendent Cathey explained that for the three days both staff and <br />students would not be in session and that discussions are ongoing with bargaining groups <br />regarding this issue. <br />Councilmember Reed asked for clarification on the school safety-related budget cut. <br />Interim Superintendent Cathey explained what those cuts were, i.e., radio repairs, safety <br />
