IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO ORDINANCE NO. 2001 - 011 (1022) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE I, CHAPTER 3 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING A TRAFFIC ADVISORY FUNCTION FOR THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF TITLE VI, CHAPTER 1 AND CHAPTER 2 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TRAFFIC CONTROL AND TOW AWAY ZONES The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1: Title I, Chapter 3, Article 10 of the San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1 -3 -1005 POWERS AND DUTIES. The Planning Commission shall: (a) hear and recommend to the City Council on proposals to adopt, amend or repeal a general plan for the physical development of the City; (b) exercise such functions with respect to land subdivisions, planning, zoning and future right -of -way lines as are prescribed in Chapters 3, 13 and 16 of Title VII of this Code; (c) hear and recommend to the City Council proposals that affect the traffic circulation in the City, if such proposals are referred to the Commission by the Zoning Enforcement Official or the Transportation Administrator; and initiate proposals to the City Council regarding the desirability of enacting new regulations or programs regarding traffic circulation; (d) possess the powers and perform the duties prescribed by statute. Section 2. Title VI, Chapter 1, Article 5, Section 6 -1 -500 and 6 -5 -505 of the San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 6 -1 -500 NO PARKING. (a) General: It shall be unlawful for the driver of a vehicle to stop, park or leave standing such vehicle whether attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direction of a police officer, traffic officer, or traffic sign or signal: (1) In an intersection; (2) In a crosswalk; 1
