IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 99 -09. (1035/1076) <br /> AN URGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 3 <br /> AND ADDING CHAPTER 3 OF TITLE III OF THE <br /> SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE <br /> • <br /> UNIFORM FIRE CODE, AS AMENDED, AND MAKING THIS MATTER <br /> AN URGENCY MEASURE TO TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 1999, PURSUANT TO <br /> SECTION 1 -1 -345 (f) and (b) OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> BECAUSE IT RELATES TO PARTICULAR PROVISIONS OF LAW <br /> PRESCRIBING THE MANNER OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION AND FOR THE <br /> IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH OR SAFETY <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 3 of Title III of the San Leandro <br /> Municipal Code is hereby repealed. <br /> Section 2. Chapter 3 is hereby added to Title III of the <br /> San Leandro Municipal Code to read as follows: <br /> "ARTICLE 1. ADOPTION <br /> Section 3 -3 -100: ADOPTION. Except as otherwise provided <br /> hereinafter, that certain document entitled "Uniform Fire Code, <br /> 1997 Edition ", and all appendixes except II -E, compiled by the <br /> International Conference of Building Officials and the <br /> International Fire Code Institute, and amended by the California <br /> Building Standards Commission, entitled the California Building <br /> Standards Code, is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the City of <br /> San Leandro. However, in accordance with California Government <br /> Code Section 50222.4, no penalty clauses are adopted by <br /> reference. In the event an amendment to the California Building <br /> Standards Code results in differences between these building <br /> standards and the California Building Standards Code, the text of <br /> these building standards shall govern. In accordance with <br /> California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.7, express <br /> findings that modifications to the California Building Standards <br /> Code are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, <br /> geological or topographical conditions ate either already on file <br /> with the California Building Standards Commission, or will be <br /> filed prior to the effective date of this Ordinance. In <br /> accordance with California Government Code Section 50022.6, at <br /> least one true copy of the Uniform Fire Code has been on file <br /> 1 <br />
