IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 99- 011 (1076) <br /> AN URGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE 2 <br /> AND ADDING ARTICLE 2 TO CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE VII <br /> OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE <br /> DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE, AS AMENDED, AND MAKING THIS MATTER AN <br /> URGENCY MEASURE TO TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 1999, PURSUANT TO SECTION <br /> 1 -1 -345 (f) and (b) OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE BECAUSE IT <br /> RELATES TO PARTICULAR PROVISIONS OF LAW PRESCRIBING THE MANNER OF <br /> ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF THE <br /> PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH OR SAFETY <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. Article 2 of Title VII, Chapter 5, of the San <br /> Leandro Municipal Code is hereby repealed. <br /> Section 2. Article 2 is hereby added to Title VII, Chapter, 5 <br /> of the San Leandro Municipal Code to read as follows: <br /> "ARTICLE 2. DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE <br /> Section 7 -5 -200: TITLE. These regulations shall be known as the <br /> "Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings ", and may be cited <br /> as such, and will be referred to herein as "this Code ". <br /> Section 7 -5 -205: PURPOSE AND SCOPE. <br /> (a) Purpose. It is the purpose of this Code to provide a <br /> just, equitable, and practicable method, to be <br /> cumulative with and in addition to, any other remedy <br /> • <br /> provided by the Building Code, Housing Code, or <br /> otherwise available at law, whereby buildings, <br /> structures or premises which from any cause endanger the <br /> life, limb, health, morals, property, safety or welfare <br /> of the general public or their occupants may be required <br /> to be repaired, vacated, or demolished. <br /> The purpose of this Code is not to create or <br /> otherwise establish or designate any particular <br /> class or group of persons who will or should be <br /> especially protected or benefited by the terms of <br /> this Code. <br /> -i- <br />
