IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 99 - 015 (1023/1076) <br /> AN URGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE 6 <br /> AND ADDING ARTICLE 6 TO CHAPTER 5 <br /> OF TITLE VII OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING BY <br /> REFERENCE THE ELECTRICAL - GENERAL PROVISIONS, AS AMENDED, <br /> AND MAKING THIS MATTER AN URGENCY MEASURE TO TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, <br /> 1999, PURSUANT TO SECTION 1 -1 -345 (f) and (b) OF THE SAN LEANDRO <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE BECAUSE IT RELATES TO PARTICULAR PROVISIONS OF LAW <br /> PRESCRIBING THE MANNER OF ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION AND FOR THE <br /> IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH OR SAFETY <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. Article 6 of Chapter 5 of Title VII of the <br /> San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby repealed. <br /> Section 2. Article 6 is hereby added to Chapter 5 of <br /> Title VII of the San Leandro Municipal Code to read as follows: <br /> "ARTICLE 6. ELECTRICAL - GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> Section 7 -5 -600: PERMIT REQUIRED. It shall be unlawful for <br /> any person, firm, corporation, public utility or other entity to <br /> construct, install, alter, or repair, or knowingly to allow any <br /> other person to construct, install, alter, or repair any <br /> electrical wiring or equipment in the City of San Leandro <br /> contrary to the provisions of this Chapter, or without having <br /> first obtained a permit therefor from the Building Official of <br /> said City, except as hereinafter provided. <br /> Section 7 -5 -605: APPLICATION FOR PERMIT. All applications for <br /> permits for the installation, alteration and use of electrical <br /> materials and equipment shall be in such form as shall be <br /> prescribed and provided by the Building Official. The <br /> application for each such permit shall contain the name of the <br /> owner or user of the electrical wiring or equipment to be <br /> installed, altered or changed, the location of such work by <br /> correct address, and the name and address of the person, firm or <br /> corporation performing said work. Detailed plans, diagrams and <br /> specifications may be required in addition to the application, <br /> when such information is deemed necessary by the Building <br /> Official. <br /> 1 <br />
